Community Foster Program

Help cats in need! Adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate to give them safe homes and brighter lives.

Community Foster Program

We rely on compassionate community members who notice or safely trap stray cats in need. When possible, we ask these individuals to temporarily take the cat into their home until we can transition them to a full‑time foster placement or move them forward into adoption. This short‑term care plays a vital role in ensuring cats receive the support they need as quickly as possible.

The Community Foster Program provides safe, temporary indoor housing for healthy stray adult cats who cannot be immediately placed into the Society’s limited foster network. Because our internal foster homes prioritize critical‑care and high‑needs cats, this program empowers the public to help bridge the gap for healthy strays.

Once a community foster agrees to intake a cat, the Society provides full support, including comprehensive veterinary care:

  • Spay/neuter

  • Microchipping

  • FeLV/FIV testing

  • Core vaccinations

  • Parasite prevention and treatment

After receiving medical attention and time to settle in, each cat is evaluated and then enters the Society’s adoption program. Once medically cleared and behaviourally assessed, they are matched with a suitable permanent home through our formal adoption process.

All adoption fees are used strictly to help offset veterinary and care costs, allowing us to continue supporting animals in need.
